

One of my personal favorites is Quizlet, which is a free resource that I can use to access stacks of already made flashcards by searching my class and subjects. This module served as a great reminder that there are TONS of great resources out there on the internet. One thing I always do is hand write my notes because I think it helps me remember the information better, and this module helped me realize that my style is a mix of outline and bullet points. Whether you prefer handwritten notes or typed notes, knowing how to properly organize and sort them is huge because as we process the information and convert them into notes, it can help us better remember when that topic was talked about and what the important information was when we have to go back and review them for an exam. That is a bare minimum which probably will not help too much, but when you actually learn a good studying/note taking technique that is good for you then it can make you life as a student much easier. The organization of of the information is so important because even if you never look back at the notes again, at least your brain had to process the information and decide what was important enough to keep and what to ignore. In almost all classes, it is impossible to pass without taking some kind of notes. In Module 5 we covered a topic that is critical to student life. I was glad when I saw the Google Scholar appeared in the Lesson Materials powerpoint on slide 25 because it was almost like a re-affirmation of the method I have been using over the years and its one that I think more people should utilize. Instead of finding some junked up, unreliable website with no author, publishing date, or any other sort of credentials, Google Scholar provides research and studies done by real experts in their fields of study, listing publication date, publisher, authors, credentials, peer reviews and more. This is a great resource to use because it compiles lots of relevant research and studies/finding related to the topic you searched. My main go-to source was always Google Scholar ().

Papers that required the information to come from reliable sources like scientific journals or academic articles. Over the years O have written a handful of research papers. As annoying as it was back then, they wanted us to realize the importance of choosing good, reliable sources of information so we could learn how to create accurate and informative papers. We all remember our annoying middle school teachers telling us the “wikipedia isn’t a good source” and they are for sure right. The resources chosen and used in a paper can either make or break your grade. Like all things, if you know how to manage your time and you budget your minutes correctly, there is plenty of time in the day to get done what you need to get done. If you do the work for a certain period of time (distance between the treats) you get rewarded by a break (treat). I find that using Focus Keeper is a lot like leading a dog into a room by leaving a trail of treats on the ground. I could use this idea of taking small, intentional breaks to actually get stuff done faster while not exhausting myself by trying to grind it out over the course of a few hours and getting distracted by responding to messages or social media. I found this incredibly useful because half the time I take a break and do not come back to that assignment until the next day. Focus Keeper is an app that helps students focus up for a certain period of time, while also allowing for frequent breaks to encourage max productivity and motivation. In the lecture slides, the tool Focus Keeper was mentioned (). It is helping us in so many ways.I think on ef the most valuable things that we covered in this module is taking smart breaks. The Internet has become a part of our life. Every field requires a discipline and the person who follows the discipline will be appreciated. Even though we aren't with others in person, we should remember that they're still there, on the other end of our communication. Internet etiquette, also known as “Netiquette,” is essential in a civilized work environment or personal relationship. It may seem not to be a drastic issue right now but with the new set up we are all in, sooner or later, it ’ ll create problems if we don ’ t learn some of the few basic rules.

Why Displaying Netiquette Is Important As we, people, continue to expand our use of internet for all aspects of our lives, from emailing friends and doing social networking, joining online classes to scheduling job interviews and doctor appointments, many of the net-users have formed bad habits and tossed proper etiquettes aside.
